A. DESCRIPTION

The Indonesian Arbitration Week, which includes several sub-events such as paper presentations, arbitration seminars, and the presentation of the Indonesia ADR Awards, is an excellent and progressive series of activities aimed at raising awareness among all stakeholders, particularly business players, about using Arbitration as a means of resolving business disputes that arise in the field. As of now, the Indonesian Dispute Board (DSI) has 4,589 Mediators, 199 Adjudicators, 144 Conciliators, 727 Arbitrators, and 125 Dispute Board Practitioners. It is hoped that the presence of the Indonesian Dispute Board will contribute to efforts to prevent and resolve contract disputes between parties through Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) mechanisms. The awarding of national-level recognitions at this prestigious event serves as a platform for honoring achievements in the field of Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) in Indonesia, carried out by Dispute Resolvers, including Mediators, Conciliators, Adjudicators, Arbitrators, and Dispute Board Practitioners. It is expected that the Indonesian Arbitration Week, with its various sub-activities such as paper presentations, arbitration seminars, and the Indonesia ADR Award ceremony, will contribute positively to improving the arbitration ecosystem in Indonesia while enhancing the performance of Mediators in reconciling disputing parties within society. The presence of Dispute Resolvers is increasingly important and strategic in preventing anarchic actions and vigilantism by certain individuals in society. Furthermore, the role of Conciliators in the industrial relations sector is becoming more critical and strategic as the dynamics of disputes in this field continue to evolve, requiring the involvement of professional and competent Conciliators to mediate industrial relations disputes between workers and companies. The role of Adjudicators in out-of-court dispute resolution is also crucial, particularly in the public service sector, making it necessary to recognize and honor the achievements of Adjudicators to ensure that their profession becomes a promising one in Indonesia’s dispute resolution processes. The recognition of Arbitrators is one of the key awards that will be presented by the Indonesian Dispute Board (DSI) to competent and professional Arbitrators who have arbitrated cases and are continuously committed to strengthening arbitration regulations in Indonesia. Finally, Dispute Board Practitioners, who specialize in resolving construction contract disputes, should be honored and highly appreciated for their role and dedication in peacefully resolving such disputes outside of court, in ways that are acceptable to both contracting parties. The Indonesian Arbitration Week, which includes various sub-events such as paper presentations, arbitration seminars, and the Indonesia ADR Award ceremony, is expected to become an annual event that contributes positively to strengthening and improving the Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) system in Indonesia. Through this event, it is hoped that the professions of Mediator, Conciliator, Adjudicator, Arbitrator, and Dispute Board Practitioner will be further promoted as noble and respected professions within Indonesian society.
